When Covid-19 forced me to stop seeing clients in person for manual therapy, I began to revisit the idea and practice of distance health. I began work with distance treatments through Reiki training in 2008. While on lockdown I continued my studies with 24 hours of Distance Healing from the Core. This course helped me to fine tune my energetic therapeutic presence and introduced new tools and techniques.
What is Distance Health?
Many forms of energy work fall under the umbrella of distance health. Quantum physics demonstrates that our physical bodies are electrical and made up of measurable energy. For example, an EKG is a reading of the energy field around the heart. In this view, the universe becomes a dynamic web of inseparable energy patterns. Energy work can therefore be performed in person or over great distances. Energy work practitioners train to tap into the energetic bodies of clients to help the body, mind and spirit heal.
Distance Health also acknowledges the inner wisdom of our biology and its unrelenting attempt to seek homeostasis. By utilizing the individual’s own intuition, emotion, and sensation, a trained practitioner can help guide the client to jumpstart their own healing.
My Distance Health sessions combine energy healing, mindfulness techniques, intuition, imagery and dialoging to help your body find what it needs to heal. Nothing in Distance Healing is new – I use these same techniques in my in-person treatment sessions. My knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology likewise informs distance healing.
What Distance Health is NOT:
Distance health is not psychotherapy. I have been studying imaging and dialoging for many years with the Upledger Institute. As I practice it, all mindfulness and dialoguing is led by the client and I do not diagnose any illness or injury nor do I treat mental health conditions.
In some forms of energy work, the therapist performs a healing on a client who is passive. Distance health is a collaboration or your inner wisdom and mine to help your body make the changes it needs to heal. You are your own healer, I am just the facilitator and can offer energetic “hands”, intuition and guidance to support you.
Why Distance Health?
Distance Health allows you to connect with your own inner wisdom and become more connected to the messages of your body. Distance health can help you recognize how past experiences can be stored in the body and what needs to happen to live your best life.
Working remotely allows me to meet with clients who have mobility/transportation issues, live outside of my area and, obviously eliminates the risk of disease transmission.
What will my session be like?
To schedule a session, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will find a time and a session length that works for both of us. Once the session is scheduled, I will email you an invoice hold your appointment. We can work via phone, FaceTime or Doxy.me. I’ll ask that you find a place where you will not be disturbed, and find a comfortable seat. If you have an idea where you would like to start your session, we will begin there. Otherwise we will work together with mindfulness and imagery techniques to see what your body is asking for. I will help you connect and communicate with your body to help understand or clarify whatever issue you are having. I ask that you be open to whatever comes into your awareness and trust that you know best for what you need. You will always be in control of the session and if you ever feel uncomfortable or otherwise unsupported, please let me know and I am happy to adjust.
